Discover the Jensen Performing Arts Difference
Compare the benefits of dance classes at Jensen Performing Arts with traditional youth sports to see how our approach creates a more balanced and enriching experience for your child’s growth and development.
Traditional sports often emphasize physical skills and competition, overlooking emotional growth, creativity, and personal character development.
Team sports can sometimes create environments where less skilled players feel excluded or discouraged due to competitive pressures and selective play.
The focus on winning in traditional sports can detract from enjoyment and reduce emphasis on teamwork and fair play.
In team sports, coaching may be spread across large groups, limiting personalized feedback and support.
Shining Stars classes combine fitness and emotional well-being, helping children develop strength, flexibility, and resilience in a fun, supportive environment.
Every child is encouraged to shine as they learn new dance skills, building self-confidence and a sense of belonging.
Shining Stars prioritizes the joy of learning, discipline, and collaboration, helping dancers value personal improvement and teamwork over competition.
Our instructors provide personalized guidance, helping each child develop respect, listening skills, and meaningful connections with peers.

The focus on detailed execution not only enhances dance performance but also instills discipline and concentration that benefit all aspects of life.
Express Yourself Through Movement
In our Junior Jazz class, dancers ages 8-12 explore fundamental jazz techniques in an encouraging and creative environment. This class promotes self-expression and helps students connect with the rhythm and energy of various jazz styles. Through structured exercises, young dancers channel their enthusiasm into mastering dance terminology and technique. The skills they gain—such as flexibility, coordination, and focus—translate into success both on and off the dance floor.
Building Strength and Flexibility
Our Junior Acro class blends dance with acrobatic elements, ideal for students aged 8-12. Following the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, dancers develop strength, flexibility, balance, and tumbling skills. With a focus on safety, Acro Conditioning is a required component, helping students build the physical foundation needed to succeed. The class fosters perseverance and dedication as dancers take on new challenges in a fun, supportive setting.
Fostering Teamwork and Confidence
At Jensen Performing Arts, we prioritize teamwork in every aspect of our Juniors Dance Classes. Whether practicing ballet, jazz, or acro, students learn the value of collaboration and encouragement.
